Lapbook

During the course of the lesson, your students will create a lapbook on Vltava by Bedřich Smetana. You will begin making the lapbook at the end of learning unit 2. The students will need to be given a dark red A3 sheet of paper, which will be folded as shown in the sketch (Fig. 1). The cover sheet (M4) will be cut out by the students, painted and glued to the front of the lapbook (Fig. 2). The materials will be created gradually in the learning units and then also glued into the lapbook so that it fills up during the lesson (Fig. 3).

Fortissimo App

In one hour of the lesson series, children will deepen their knowledge of the Moldau in a fun, playful format using the Fortissimo App. Plan for this learning unit to take approximately 1 hour. Children will play the games 'Journey on the River' which connect to the Moldau levels on tablets, iPads or computers (learning unit 4). It's important to ensure that the free Fortissimo app has been download onto school devices in advance.

Lesson transparency

With the help of the lesson transparency cards, which should be hung on the board, students can easily refer to the plan for the lesson. Next to the symbol of the flag is the connected lesson goal, which is hung from the series transparency. In addition, there are numbers, social forms and music cards as board material. These should be attached to the board and presented at the beginning of the lesson, as appears on the overview page of the respective learning unit. The arrow moves from top to bottom and shows the respective lesson phase.

Series transparency

To make the course of the lesson series clear for your students, you can hang the series transparency in the classroom. The series transparency includes the lesson objectives of the individual learning units.
