Our teaching series
Each lesson series contains a range of audio and video ressources, a corresponding level in the Fortissimo app, and downloadable digital and print materials to use in the classroom. Some lesson series also include a creative craft project, such as flipbooks, lapbooks or Z-folds. These can be designed and decorated by students during the course of the lesson series.

A remix with GarageBand
In this lesson series, we transform Mozart's masterpiece 'Rondo alla Turca' into a rousing techno track. We create different beats, edit them and combine them with the classical piece of music. This creates a unique remix that bridges the gap between classical and club music.
The Nutcracker

One of the most popular works of classical music
In this lesson series we will explore the story of Clara who saved her Nutcracker from the Mouse King on Christmas Eve before entering the Kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fiary where she encountered numerous guests from around the world. Students will learn a hand choreography, have a go at body percussion, follow a musicogram, take on the roles of the different characters from 'The Nutcracker' story, and play an improvisation game. With the help of Madame Harp, they will deepen their knowledge of the story of 'The Nutcracker' in the Fortissimo app.
Vltava (the Moldau)

In this lesson series, we discover Smetana's symphonic poem 'Vltava' (also known as 'the Moldau'). The musical story begins with two springs joining in the river. Other stops follow including a hunting scene, a peasant wedding, and the river Vltava flowing through the royal city of Prague. Students will discover the music and instruments, various scenes and old legends. They will also learn about life of Bedřich Smetana. With the Fortissimo app, they will embark on an unforgettable musical journey along the river.

In this lesson series, and with the support of the Fortissimo app, we will explore the concept of volume in music. Students will learn about the life of composer Edvard Grieg and discover one of his most beautiful pieces of music called 'Morning Mood'. They will also explore the structure and sound of the flute, and have a go at composing music.
An Alpine Symphony
Music inspired by nature
In this lesson series, we will discover the symphony orchestra. Students will explore 'An Alpine Symphony' by composer Richard Strauss and analyse a range of natural sounds. They will also make instruments and experience playing as part of an orchestra. The Fortissimo app will support students to dive even further into the sounds of the orchestra.

Tempo in music
Get your students excited about the string instruments in the orchestra. In this Fortissimo lesson series, we will explore the musical concept of tempo, i.e. the speed in music. Students will learn to recognise different tempos and will put their knowledge into practice through movement and with the use of boomwackers. There will also be a chance to do an experiment on pitches. In the Fortissimo app, children will meet Grandpa Stradivarius and explore the world of the violins.

With Handel's 'Water Music', your class will go on a time travel journey back to the Baroque period and discover the world of brass instruments.
