Activity 2
Yellow A3 sheet of paper (thick/cardboard)
M2: Lap book cover sheet
(hand out one of each to each pupil)
Teacher:
"first, let’s watch a video which will show you how to fold your lap book."
Teacher:
“And this is a picture of a finished lapbook. Throughout this music lesson series, we will all create our own.”
Lapbook cover sheet (M2) and Draw to music (M1) to stick in the lapbook.
Teacher:
"Once you’ve folded your lapbook, you will need to stick the picture you drew during the last lesson on it (M1), as well as the lapbook cover sheet (M2). Look at the picture of the completed lapbook again. You can see where the cover sheet and the drawing need to go. Once you have glued them on, you can start decorating your cover sheet."
A1: 'Morning Mood' (play as musical background)
If there's still time...
… The movement improvisation from lesson 1 can be repeated. Now that students know the title of the piece and the associations that other children made with the music, the teacher can ask students to pay attention to how their movements have changed compared to the first time they moved along to the music.
Skills learned in this lesson:
Students...
… deepen their knowledge of 'Morning Mood' while designing a lap book.
