Musik, Serious Gaming und Konzentrationsfähigkeit – mit der App entdecken die Kinder die Magie der klassischen Musik mit interaktiven Spielen.
Activity 1
Teacher:
"So far, we've learned about George Frideric Handel, the Baroque period and the 'Water Music'. What can you remember?"
Collect answers and write them on the board.
Activity 2
Teacher:
"Now let's travel back in time to the Baroque period. To do this, we will come up with short dialogues.
1. Get together in groups of three.
2. In your dialogues, try to come up with ideas to help the King of England become more popular.
3. To do this, assign each member of your group a role. For the first dialogue, there is the King of England, Minister 1 and Minister 2. Agree on who will take on which role.
4. The character you are playing should use at least two given words in the dialogue. (see picture)"
Show the picture to the class.
Teacher:
"To start with, we're going to brainstorm on how the king could become more popular together. What did we learn from the newspaper front page and the Fortissimo app? Does anyone has any suggestion?"
Collects ideas to make the king more popular.
Once ideas have been shared, children can go back to their group of three and come up with their own improvised dialogues.
If groups want to, they can perform their improvised scene in front of the class.
Example of an improvised dialogue
Characters: King, Minister 1, Minister 2
Discussion idea: How could the king become more popular?
- King: My ministers, tell me, how could I become more popular with the English people? Any idea?
- Minister 1: Bread! Bread for all people!
- King: Bread...?
- Minister 2: Better have cake for everyone! We need celebrations, your Majesty!
- King: Celebrations...? With common people….? In the castle…?
- Minster 1: This is clearly going too far. Let's do it somewhere right in the center of London! People should have the opportunity to admire you, your majesty!
Activity 3
More dialogues can be developed and improvised in the same way (see activity 2).
If there's still time...
… children can take a physical break (e.g. 15 jumping jacks, 10 squats, etc.). Show them the exercises first, then let them choose which moves they want to do.
Skills learned during this lesson:
Students...
... share their knowledge of 'Water Music', Handel and the Baroque period.
... Take on an assigned role and improvise dialogues from a specific character's point of view.
