Musik, Serious Gaming und Konzentrationsfähigkeit – mit der App entdecken die Kinder die Magie der klassischen Musik mit interaktiven Spielen.
Activity 1
Task:
The teacher plays a rhythm using the claves.
- If the claves are struck against each other, you clap the rhythm with your hands.
- If only the tips of the claves are tapped together at the top, you replicate the rhythm using your index fingers.
Once the class can confidently repeat the rhythms, individual students can take on the teacher’s role and create their own rhythms with the claves for everyone to repeat.
Ideas for Variation:
- The volume of the demonstration can be varied, and students should match it accordingly.
- Alternating between hand clapping and finger tapping within a rhythm can be incorporated.
- Instead of using hands and index fingers, two other body parts can be used, such as stomping with the feet and patting the thighs. The class must agree on what each playing technique of the claves represents.
Activity 2
Task:
Open the link on your device and go to the section Games → Note values. Click on the first level with the quarter note value. Play through the games one by one to learn the note value. Then, start the next level, where new note values are introduced.
The goal of the lesson is to complete the first three levels and learn the quarter note, half note, and whole note values. If you finish early and still have time, you may repeat individual games to practise the note values.
Activity 3
Task:
Create your own rhythm with your partner. Take turns rolling the dice and write down the rolled note values on the worksheet. Practise clapping your rhythm and present it to another team.
Optional: Can the other team figure out what you rolled just by listening to your clapping?
If there is still time...
... the teams can present their rhythm compositions from Activity 3 to the class. By listening carefully, the class can try to guess what was rolled.
Skills learned in this lesson:
Students...
... train their listening skills by carefully hearing, recognising and reproducing played rhythms with their hands or fingers.
... learn note values by using the app to become familiar with quarter, half and whole notes and reinforcing them through exercises.
... compose their own rhythms by determining note values through dice rolls and combining them into a rhythm.
... enhance their listening skills by trying to identify the rolled note values of another team through careful listening.
